You do not need to transfer a domain to use it with HostAvvy hosting. Choose the existing-domain option during product configuration when you want the registration to remain at its current registrar.
- Select I will use my existing domain and update my nameservers.
- Enter the domain you control and finish the hosting order.
- Wait for the hosting order to be reviewed and accepted.
- Use the welcome details to update nameservers or individual DNS records at the current DNS provider.
- Verify the website and email configuration before removing old records or service.
Changing nameservers can replace the active DNS zone. Record existing website, email, verification, subdomain, and third-party service records before making the change. If email is hosted elsewhere, preserve the required MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
